Risca is a bustling town and a great place to live and work. Shopping, schools and an excellent place for commuting via road and rail with excellent access to the M4 and its own railway station, all add to the appeal of this thriving area. Leisure facilities, parks and library contribute to the community atmosphere.
The villages between Risca and Newbridge include Crosskeys, Pontywaun, Cwmcarn and Abercarn, all of which have a sporting heritage with rugby, football and snooker playing a big part in the history of these places. More recently, a downhill bike track has been making a huge impression on visitor numbers to Cwmcarn where this adrenaline fuelled attraction is based at the bottom of the Scenic Drive. Newbridge is a traditional mining village, again with independent shops at its heart. All of these places offer their own, individual reasons to make you want to stay – whether moving to the area or just moving, there will always be a welcome here for everyone.
